When choosing an EDC flashlight, one key factor you should consider is size. You want it to fit in your pocket just as easily as it fits in your hand. The Thrunite Neutron 2C V2 is a pocket-friendly light that comes with a battery extension tube, letting you switch up what batteries you use depending on how much power, runtime, or grip you need.

For example, if you find a longer light more comfortable to hold,  simply unscrew the head to attach the extension and you’re good to go. Depending on which configuration you choose, the Neutron can operate as a single-cell or two-cell flashlight, running off one 18650 battery or two CR123A batteries, respectively.

If you find yourself in a dark situation, you can light up your surroundings with up to 1040 lumens thanks to its CREE XM-L2 U2 LED bulb. Five output modes gives you options when it comes to runtime as well, ranging from 90 minutes in turbo mode to 90 days in moonlight mode. With a throw of 212 meters, this is a powerful light that’s versatile enough for EDC. If you want an affordable light that gives you plenty of options, you can pick up the Neutron via the link below.

Yes! This light is proof that you can get a light with a great UI, lots of lumens, AND intelligently-planned modes, especially by including a moonlight. Every time I see an EDC light that has "omg so many lumens!" but no moonlight I cringe. Plus this light gives you battery flexibility. And from my own personal experience Thrunite makes a good quality product.

Mmmm, I'm favouring the nitecore MH20GT over this one. Yes the downfall is that you cannot use different battery types, but realistically, if you can make the effort to buy cr123 then 18650 ain't too difficult.
The price on Amazon has jumped over the past few weeks from $40 to almost $75.
