One of the best ways to cover multiple bases in your EDC is to carry a multi-tool. The obvious upside is having every function you might need in one convenient package — if you can justify the pocket space. You could carry a keychain-friendly tool, but that might not be the best route to take, especially if you use a key organizer. There's one last place to carry a tool that even minimalists can appreciate: your wallet. The best EDC card tools can come in handy in a pinch as backups. Some might even do the job as your main tool. In this guide, we'll go over 10 tools that'll quickly become the most rewarding card in your wallet.

Lever Gear Toolcard Pro

If you’re looking for one card with as many tools as possible, then the Lever Gear Toolcard Pro might be for you. It packs 40 tools in its 420 stainless steel body to cover your bases for any small task that comes your way. You can attach a removable pocket clip to it if you'd rather carry it outside of your wallet, or you can even use it like a money clip to ditch your wallet entirely too.

It features 7 everyday tools in its minimal stainless steel design, including essentials like screwdrivers and a bottle opener, as well as a tape cutter for opening boxes so you can save your knife for more important tasks.

Boker Plus Credit Card Knife

Boker makes solid EDC knives that have earned their place in many EDCers' pockets, but this one deserves a spot in your wallet. It has a 2-¼ inch straight edge blade that folds back into its titanium-lined, credit card-shaped handle. This knife sports a removable pocket clip as well as a sturdy framelock, making it one of the more robust and familiar-handling wallet knife options you can get.

Wallet Ninja

If you want a card with plenty of functionality then check out the Wallet Ninja. Slip this stealthy black card into your wallet for a total of 18 tools including a screwdriver, bottle opener, etc. It also acts as a cell phone stand if you use another card to prop it up. It's constructed of steel that's been heat treated for durability so you know it’ll hold up.

Cha-O-Ha EDC Card

The Cha-O-Ha EDC Card started as a Kickstarter and was quickly funded to completion, and it's not hard to see why. It uses S35VN steel, one of the highest performing stainless steels you can get on your EDC gear. It features multiple wrench sizes as well as a screwdriver, nail puller, and plenty of others in its thin and durable frame.

Zootility Tools WildCard

With its fully locking replaceable folding blade, Zootility Tools' latest and greatest WildCard has an edge on other card tools in its class. At just 2mm thick, it packs a combo edge blade, screwdrivers, a bottle opener, and a prying tool. If you can't travel with a blade on you, you can quickly pop it out and leave it behind, too.

Tuls Titanium Tool

Titanium can turn any tool into one worth carrying, especially when it comes to card tools. The Tuls titanium card is perfect if you’re a DIYer and find yourself measuring and sketching as you work. A built-in screwdriver and box cutter make it great for everyday use, but it’s the precision cutouts made for measuring that make this a great companion on your next project.

SOG Tool Logic Card Companion

Screwdrivers and bottle openers are handy tools, but if you're going to be spending time outdoors you might want something a little more specialized. The SOG Card Companion has the usual tools like tweezers and a can opener, but you can also pull it apart and turn it into a handy knife with a 2” serrated blade for tougher cutting tasks. This tool lives up to its name and will be there for you when you need it.

TIHK Urban Slim Tool

All credit-card sized tools are slim, but some are slimmer than others. With the word “slim” in its name, the Urban Slim Tool is a thin sheet of heat-treated stainless steel that puts 10 wrench sizes, a screwdriver, and a bottle opener in your wallet. But the star of the show is its minimalist lock picking set built into the frame (for all you hobbyists, just be sure to check your local laws before carrying a set).

The Victorinox Swisscard Lite also makes a great, modern slim wallet all by itself! Just add a silicon rubber band (like the Grippity on Amazon) and you can have a blade, flashlight, screwdrivers and other tools combined with your cards and cash all in one durable, versatile, compact, low profile package. It's one of my favorite slim wallet solutions. When flying, the TSA sometimes disallows the blade, and I've found that there are Kensington flash drives that perfectly fit the knife slot as a useful alternative.

I have the Zootility WildCard in my wallet. I was one of the original backers when this came up on KickStarter and apart from an extended delivery (they had a lot of manufacturing problems it took them some time to get over), I am very pleased with it. If you get stopped by TSA with it, you can remove the blade and keep the tool, then you can purchase just the blade from them as a replacement. Its a sharp little sucker as well.
Scott Johnson ·
The Cha-O-Ha looks good depending on wrench sizes. Open end wrenches are more useful and the bottle opener is not the primary tool.

I have the Lever Gear card. ON weekends I pop on the money clip and go minimalist. It's great.

That tool logic one is so thick, I never ended up using it. Put it in a spare pouch in my pack for years and it never even moved.
