What Kind of Concealed Carry Belts To Go For

Many people wonder why they should get a gun belt for concealed carry instead of a regular belt. After all, a belt is a belt - what could be the difference?

As it turns out, the difference is quite noticeable.

A run-of-the-mill regular belt likely won’t be able to endure the weight of most concealed carry holsters. And when a gun is actually in the holster, the belt will probably give in and start to twist. As a result, the handgun in the holster will shift, with one end starting to stick outwards and the other poking into your hip.

On the other hand, a good gun belt will be sturdy enough to keep the holster in an upright position. And a great belt won’t budge even under considerable weight. Furthermore, depending on the belt size, you might be able to burden it even further with additional ammo pouches.

Finally, a concealed carry gun belt can be designed as tactical, casual, or all-around gear. Depending on the design, one belt might suit your needs better than the other. Here’s our list of best-ranked belts according to ideal use.

I have tried a lot of so called gun belts during my 30 yr law enforcement career for off duty carry and have to say the Kore belts are superb. I never had a belt that you can adjust without undoing the buckle in tiny amounts until you achieve a perfect fit and one that holds my holstered firearm snug to my waist.
Eugene Lempert ·
a more innovative belt tenicor zero belt.
Eugene Lempert ·
a bit confused..you picked 4 belts with cobra buckles, a "non metalic" belt..with a metal zipper pull..concealed would imply being hard to spot..those 5 ruin this narrative. also blue alpha makes a low profile belt which would have been a nice addition but instead y'all went with another cobra buckle ..
Ryan ·
I just started wearing a “we the people” falcon which I like… it took some experimenting because it’s buckle less but so far, so good. I was trying to use my GRIP6 bit the work belt version was too wide for my holster and not quite ridged enough. Just my quick thoughts.
Eugene Lempert ·
what type of holster, iwb or owb?
Ryan ·
I wear a We The People IWB for a Sig P365 appendix carry.
