Whether you're planning your daily to-do's or drawing up your holiday shopping list, writing things down by hand with pen and paper can make all the difference. To some EDCers, a solid pen and a pocket notebook are just as essential as their trusty folding knife. Few companies know this as well as the James Brand, who have recently started to expand their offering beyond their sleek folding knives to cover the rest of your bases. This time around, they've released an EDC pen with their signature modern minimalist styling, built with durable materials and kitted out with thoughtful details that any EDCer can appreciate. To accompany the Benton Pen, they've also collaborated with Field Notes to offer another 3-pack of notebooks to add to your collection as well.

Unlike most pens, the Benton Pen is machined from sturdy 304 stainless steel. It gives a premium feel with added heft and substance for balance and durability. It's comfortably sized at 5.5” long, complete with a generous section of laser-etched stippling at the end of the pen for extra grip. As a refillable machined pen, the Benton accommodates the ever-popular Schmidt 900 Parker-style ballpoint refill that's easy to find in your preferred size and color.

A rear click mechanism is an ideal choice for an EDC pen like the Benton, as its satisfying action is quick to deploy compared to screw caps and there are no loose parts to misplace. Even better, the clicky itself serves as a lanyard attachment point. An included cord lanyard with dual-textured bead offers easy retrieval and more secure retention, making this pen much harder to lose. A slim, PVD-coated pocket clip gives you convenient carry options and doubles as an anti-roll mechanism when you've set it down, too.

The Benton Pen comes in two colorways: a silver body with contrasting black clip and green-accented clicker, and a fully murdered out all-black version. They pair up nicely with the James Brand's set of the ever-popular Field Notes pocket notebooks, which come in a 3-pack of Steel Grey, Walnut, and Electric Moss covers with green grid ruling.

With the James Brand Benton Pen and matching Field Notes, you'll be ready to close out this year with style, and with all of your notes in order. You can pick up the Benton Pen and support a charitable cause in celebration of Giving Tuesday at the James Brand's website linked below.

Just want to say I have the special edition white cerakote version of this pen and I'm not a fan. the exterior looks nice, but the internal click mechanism is pretty cheapo for an $80 pen. A better buy is any of the Rotring pens. Solid, well built, and long lasting.
