This week’s trending knife features a versatile favorite with a great balance of form and function. Custom maker Alan Folts had in his mind to help people learn about knives as tools, and created the CRKT Minimalist with utility in the forefront. Designed with ergonomics in mind, the Minimalist is a full tang 5Cr13Mov knife that comes in a variety of blade shapes for every occasion, all of which come at an average of 2” in length. Sheathed in Zytel, it works well as a neck knife or in the pocket alike. The handle is contoured to afford a secure 3-finger grip, and a lanyard helps with added purchase for larger hands. Jimping along the thumb ramp and linen Micarta scales finish off the package. A compact blade that fits in the hand like nothing else, its popularity for EDC comes to no surprise.
