Finding the right tools with features dialed into your exact needs can be a difficult proposition. Fortunately Drop has made it easy to discover diverse and inventive products through building partnerships with makers. Their unique approach allows enthusiasts to participate in product development, therefore delivering a carefully curated selection to the community. The Ferrum Forge Mordax and Schwarz Perpetua are two of Drop’s best-selling collaboration blades that they’re bringing to market again, along with a fully stocked maintenance kit from KC Tool. The high-quality combo of knives gives you an instant knife rotation to handle your daily tasks, with no upkeep to worry about thanks to the knife kit. They’re a trio of awesome gear that would be a solid fit for (or start off) any EDC.

Ferrum Forge Mordax

One of Ferrum Forge’s most popular designs is reborn into a production knife through a collaboration with premium maker Pro-Tech. The Drop x Ferrum Forge Mordax is a production knife that still boasts the features and ergonomics of Ferrum Forge’s original custom design. It weights less than 4 ounces even at an overall length of 8.25” thanks to the lightweight aluminum scales. The milled liners add to the weight reduction, making it lighter and more pocket friendly. The blade comes in 3.6“ of CPM-20CV steel ground into a flat saber grind, and a manual flipper propels the blade open on bearings. The finger flipper then becomes part of a pronounced choil, providing a very secure choked up grip. Lock up is with a button lock, which lets the knife fall closed with little effort. With blade finishes and handle materials coming in ten different combinations, the Drop x Ferrum Forge Mordax is sure to tickle any enthusiast’s fancy.

Schwarz Perpetua

The Schwarz Perpetua’s design comes from Millit Knives based out of Idaho, and whose name comes from the state’s motto of "Esto Perpetua," which means "Let it be Perpetual.“ Tip to tail, knife was built to last forever. The 3.5” drop point blade is forged in Nitro-V steel, a favorite of custom makers that can be heat-treated for greater hardness and excellent wear resistance. The blade comes milled with an aggressive hollow grind which lets it take on an extremely sharp edge. You also get ambidextrous operation with dual thumb studs for deployment, with the popular and reliable Axis lock handling blade security. Smooth G-10 scales envelop the handles for a secure grip, and the tip-up pocket clip can be positioned on either side. Some details about the Perpetua have also been improved for this Drop collaboration: the pocket clip and liners are now made of 400 series steel for added durability, and a larger pivot screw provides more lateral strength as well as a balanced look. As its name implies, the Schwarz Perpetua is designed as a hardy daily driver that will see you through a lifetime of cutting tasks.
