Some of us can do with any kind of pen for EDC as long as it fits in our pockets, but some need a certain level of performance compared to their daily marker or writer. If precision and permanence are a must for your regular tasks, the Sakura Pigma Micron 05 could be the solution for you. It lays down a precise 0.45 mm line of submicron-sized pigment-based ink engineered to work with narrow pen tips. The Sakura Pigma ink is waterproof and fade-resistant, chemically protected from UV rays, chemical degradation, and smudging due to oil. While this sounds great for engineers and artists, this pen is also good for EDC, since it’s useful on a variety of paper types. It resists feathering (when your ink spreads beyond the lines and follows the fibers of the paper) and bleeding (ink seeping into the opposite page where you wrote). This, especially when combined with acid-free paper, ensures your notes and journal entries remain clear and legible for posterity. The Micron 05 works well as an all-around EDC writer, and you can also check out their other options for line width at the link below.
