While it’s been around for what seems like ages, the Leatherman Super Tool 300 continues to trend on our charts as a go-to choice for bigger and tougher tasks. Weighing in at 9.6 ounces and measuring 4.5" closed, this heavy-duty multi-tool features 19 functions geared towards construction and industrial applications, but work especially well for everyday tasks. Like many in the Leatherman range, it’s a butterfly fold design built around a pair of pliers. But not just any pliers--these are larger and the toughest that Leatherman makes. The combination needlenose and regular pliers integrate replaceable wire cutters, paired with ruled handles. Inside the handles you can unfold the rest of the tools, which include different-sized screwdrivers, a can and bottle opener, a file, a saw, and an awl. Last but not least, this multi-tool lets you bring along two knife blades: a clip point with a plain edge and a sheepsfoot with a serrated edge, both made from tough and easily sharpened 420HC stainless steel. If you’re looking for a larger and tougher multi-tool for your EDC, the venerable Leatherman Super Tool 300 could be the one for you. Check it out at the link below.

I have extolled the virtues of the Gerber MP-600 before and here I believe it is again a better choice. The Gerber is 1/2 oz. lighter and costs $20 less. I've cut and spliced a lot of 14-18 gauge wire with my Gerber in 15 years and don't feel the cutters need replaced or even sharpened. If you have just one tool and have to cut/splice a lot of wire, the replaceable wire cutter blades on the Leatherman might be worth it. Otherwise, I don't see it. Lest someone should believe me a Gerber shill, I own the Leatherman Style PS in my pocket a lot and am looking at the Leap.

Cheers everyone, and stay safe.

I have shattered the carbide wire cutters on my blunt nose mp600. The 154cm cutters on the 300 are superior.

That looks like a photo of the regular Super Tool-- Not the Super Tool 300 that the article references. Unless I am missing something...
