Quiet Carry Drift

It’s easy to get lost in a market packed to the brim with great knives. In the past month alone we’ve covered dozens of great knives that each deserver a place in your EDC. But sometimes a knife comes along that surprises us, offering great features, a slick aesthetic, and is actually something you can buy right now. True to their name, Quiet Carry silently released a new version of their cult favorite Drift knife, and on paper it offers tremendous value and features for an EDC blade. With collectible titanium models already selling out and vibrant, colorful G10 models on the way, the new Drift is one blade to keep an eye on.

Despite its looks as a modern ultralight titanium blade, the Drift is actually designed as an all-purpose, extreme weather slicer. This is thanks to its nitrogen-based Vanax Super Clean blade steel, an extremely tough and corrosion-resistant steel designed for even the most saturated saltwater environments. This latest version of Vanax appears on the Drift in a slim 2.98“ drop point with plenty of belly for slicing tasks.

Rather than deploying via a cutout on the old version of the Drift, ambidextrous thumb studs now flank either side of the clean, flat ground blade. Phosphor bronze washers ensure that the Drift’s edge flies out at a moment’s notice, and a frame lock with an LC200N/Z-FiNit lock bar insert (itself a highly resistant material) keeps the blade secured in while in use.

6AL 4V titanium handles with chamfered edges continue the sleek design of the Drift, and makes the knife feel smaller in hand than it actually is. Use of titanium also keeps its weight down to a lightweight 2.6 ounces for ease of EDC. Flattened pivots and screws keep the knife’s profile slim, and the only outstanding features on the handles are Quiet Carry’s subtle 4-four dot branding on either side, as well as a deep carry wire clip for right-handed carry.

The new Quiet Carry Drift is stacked with features in a knife that’s as comfortable in an urban EDC as in your toolbox for your next weekend expedition. A sleek, versatile design, exceptional materials, and a lightweight profile make it an excellent all-arounder, with an added touch of collectability on top. Pick it up from Quiet Carry below in your option of blade and titanium handle finish, and watch out for the colorful G10 models coming out in March.
