Watch batteries last a long time. But when they do finally die, it’s always at the most inconvenient moment. What if you never had to change them again? The Seiko SSC229 sport watch is solar powered, so as long as there’s sun you won’t have to replace its battery.
Seiko dive watches have found a home on the wrists of many EDCers thanks to their durable build quality and functionality. The SSC229 has a 44.5mm case with Japanese quartz movement and a stainless steel bracelet.
Underneath Seiko’s Hardlex crystal window are bold, Arabic numerals for at-a-glance legibility. When light is scarce you can still keep track of time thanks to the glow-in-the-dark hour and minute hands. In the center of the watch face are three sub-dials that display military time, 60-minutes, and continuous seconds. It’s also submersible up to 100m, so this watch has you covered above and below the surface.
The SSC229 takes the aesthetic and functionality that EDCers have come to love from Seiko, and puts it in a watch that never stops. Make sure to click the link below if you want to add this solar-powered time piece to your collection.
