About This Everyday Carry
Semi retired, self employed small craft co-business owner in Penang, Malaysia. Am about to be 50 in 2025, and I’ve seen the evolution of what we know now as edc. Back then, we’re just folder collectors😂. Stopped collecting blades as I find the edc universe is expansive, and most times expensive. I carry my gear in 3 parts, belt caddy, edc bag and a go bag. It has gotten me out of some serious and lighthearted situations before and I have been at this for years. My favorite evolution of edc is the knipex, which I opted out for an adjustable lock plumbing pliers.
I used to work in production and we develop he habit of carrying convenient tool for cameras and lighting gears. After leaving the industry to help my family with their craft business, I carried the same habit. As I got older, tools became smaller and easier to carry so naturally, I opted for an edc bag and a leather belt caddy. I also enjoy camping outdoors so the tools I carry compliments my camping gear too. In the past, I’ve done so many genres of production, with documentaries being my favorite. Nothing big, just some local national programs. My edc has been put to good use and abused, so I don’t collect. At this particular stage, I’ve stashed the LM Wave in favor of the Nextool E1 as both can use LM Bits. Learning to lighten the load but still be extensive.
Please keep up the good work. Am not a fan of material publications like high society magazines or fancy car catalogues. I find guys into edc tend to be good members of society.
