Technical equipment and apparel have been DSPTCH’s forte for nearly 15 years. They’ve not only created iconic community favorites such as the Daypack and the many variations of the Unit Sling, but they’ve done so while on the cutting edge of material science; early on in the EDC bag game they were one of the first to make use of fabrics like Dyneema and ECOPAK, and continue to innovate with designs and styles to this day.

The Unit Sling collection is the latest dispatch from DSPTCH, featuring 10 bags in two sizes (6L and 12L) and five military-inspired colorways with their own mix of materials, with a blackout Dyneema as the premium headliner for each bag and four variations of Ultra and ECOPAK for the rest. The product photos don’t really show it, but these bags are definitely on the larger side to cover your bases between a daily sling and a full-sized messenger. Clever design by way of pleating, darting, and Y-shaped “wings” allows them to compress and expand as they get filled up, while also streamlining them into a body-wrapping shape.

Common between the two bags are some neat hardware details, such as a 1.5″ quick-release FIDLOCK shoulder strap (which is reversible and rotates for ambidextrous carrying comfort), as well as a V-buckle FIDLOCK strap on the left wing that serves as both a color accept point as well as a carrier location for loose items like a hat or jacket. Multiple D-ring and webbing mount points also allow a full suite of modularity with DSPTCH’s accessories. The larger Unit Shoulder Bag also has additional organization spaces like a front zipper compartment, hidden zip pocket, and a laptop sleeve for up to 14″ devices.

We originally covered the Unit Sling collection on the podcast a month ago, but the bags have since sold out and restocked in limited amounts at the time of this writing, with more planned down the line if you’re not able to grab the style and size you want. And like all DSPTCH bags, the whole collection is made in the USA with a lifetime guarantee.
