It’s not every day that you can go back and make something great even better, especially a product recently released and still enjoying immense popularity. But that’s exactly what Aer did with a surprise drop of one of their most popular bags—the Day Pack 2—in one of EDCs most desired materials for a bag: X-Pac. What was already a solid everyday bag gets a bump up in durability and collectability, and it’s available right now as a sleek addition to your EDC.

If you’re unfamiliar with X-Pac, it’s a a highly durable and waterproof layered laminate material designed to withstand the harshest conditions built by Dimension-Polyant, a company that builds racing sailcloths by trade and figured they’d make an excellent product fabric as well. The VX-42 material used in this new Day Pack 2 first made an appearance in Aer’s X-Pac collection that celebrated their 5th anniversary, and like that collection it combines with a hi-vis ripstop nylon interior and sealing zippers for top tier weather resistance for the Day Pack.

But Aer didn’t fix what isn’t broken, so you still get an everyday/tech backpack loaded with features. This includes the Day Pack 2’s two main compartments, the front for admin organization and the rear that fits up to a 15“ laptop and other flat items like tablets along with space for some organizing pouches. It also comes with a quick access top pocket in front of the bag’s grab handle, an expandable side water bottle pocket, and a luggage pass through for when you’re next able to take to the skies.

Altogether the Day Pack 2 comes with 14.8L of storage in a structured design that lets the bag stay upright when placed on a surface, with all the accoutrements you’ve come to expect from Aer bags, including YKK zippers, Duraflex hardware, a sternum strap, and comfortable straps paired with a padded mesh back panel for comfort and airflow for breathability. As a final touch, this X-Pac version’s zipper pulls come with reflective detail for more visibility, matching well with its eye-popping interior.

The Day Pack 2 is an EDC crowd favorite, with this X-Pac edition dialing everything to 11 while still keeping the bag surprisingly affordable and attainable. No need to wait for special drops—pick it up from Aer at the link below.
