It’s a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.
Beyond just making some of our favorite mindfulness and manipulation toys, our friends at aroundsquare have also been venturing into the realm of useful everyday implements. A new fountain pen joins their catalog as part of their massive March drop. It’s a design a few years in the making, building on the design of their minimal K-OS (“King of Scribble”) pen but redesigned to accommodate a bigger body for beefier internals, thus a better grip befitting the long-form writing experience.
The fountain pens, nicknamed the “K-OFF” for “King of Flow,” arrive in five acrylic options or three 6061 anodized aluminum ones to best match your taste, with the acrylics each sporting unique swirl patterns while their metal siblings come with an etched aroundsquare wordmark logo. The pens come with German-made Bock 250 nibs in your choice of Fine, Medium, or Bold, along with a selection of standard ink cartridges to get you started. And for more discerning inkthusiasts, Kaweco Mini Piston converters let you pull from your existing bottle stash.
What we like: If you’re not already into aroundsquare’s fidget ecosystem, actual EDC tools are a great introduction into their products. The pens’ components are also interchangeable if you want to Lego a unique, personalized pen for yourself.
What to watch out for: The pen hobby is frighteningly deep, and don’t even get us started on the inks…
Final verdict: As if we didn’t have enough reason to browse aroundsquare’s site even more.
