It's a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.
If you’re anything like me and want to move on from repurposing old vitamin bottles to store your pills for travel, then the Travel RX Magnetic Pill Case from Type Two Labs might be worth a look. More than your average pill case, the Travel RX aims to solve your pill packing problems by combining functionality, durability, and style in one sleek package.
It features an innovative rotating design that lets you easily access your pills. The lid is secured by 32 Ni-plated Neodymium magnets that keep it firmly attached to the case, allowing it to click and slide smoothly to each pocket. You can remove the lid by turning it halfway between the pockets and lifting it. When you place the lid back, the magnets will automatically align and reattach it.
The case is made from high-strength polymer and sound-absorbing TPU, which make it impact-resistant, wear-resistant, water-resistant, and quiet. It features a through hole for attaching a carabiner to clip it to your backpack, belt, or keychain while preventing the case from accidentally spinning open and spilling its contents. It’s also small enough to fit in your pocket, so you can always have your pills wherever you go.
The case has seven compartments, one for each day of the week. Each can hold anywhere from a few large pills to over a dozen small pills, depending on their size and shape.
What we like: The case comes in Stealthy Black, Vibrant Teal, and Hazard Orange colors. Its subtle design aesthetic makes it stylish enough to use for days at the office or traveling on the go.
What to watch out for: Standard crowdfunding disclaimer here, so just be aware of how pledging on Kickstarter works. And if you need to take several types of pills daily, the compartments might not be big enough to fit all of them, depending on how large they are.
Final verdict: Durable and discrete, the Travel RX Magnetic Pill Case will change how you store and carry your pills for the better. Pick yours up and pre-order on their fully funded campaign at the link below.
