Jesper Voxnaes is a knife industry titan, with plenty of sought-after collaborations under his belt and many more on the horizon. His most recent folding knife, the Copita, is made in conjunction with our friends at Urban EDC Supply. It’s based on a folding kitchen knife, with a distinct modified drop-point blade and an extended curved belly that makes it excellent for slicing tasks, especially if you use your everyday carry blade to do a bit of ad-hoc food prep when you’re on the go.

The Urban EDC Supply Copita is an elegant compact folding knife with a 2.26" blade featuring premium Bohler M390 stainless steel. The blade comes in an ergonomic design with a choil that allows you to get a tight grip on the blade during detail cutting and slicing tasks. Its front flipper action is smooth with a nice detent, and it allows for easy ambidextrous one-handed opening for added convenience.

The handle is available in a few different makeups, from a sleek minimalist titanium body to a brown (or green) canvas micarta for added grip, and even an elegant all black PVD colorway that comes with a blacked-out blade for maximum discretion. The different colorways alternate between titanium, brass, and anodized blue backspacers for an aesthetic touch of contrast. At its lightest configuration with canvas micarta the Copita weights in at 2.2 oz, ensuring this knife won’t weigh you down too much before you even get to use it for your daily needs.

With the weirdness that has marked the last year and a half, Urban EDC is releasing this knife on a pre-order basis, which allows them to get the supply chain right to fulfill all their orders by what they anticipate to be Spring 2022. If this striking collaboration design speaks to you, preorder and secure the Copita of your choice before the deadline as supplies will be limited, so make sure to check it out at the link below.

Want to learn more about the Copita? We asked Jesper Voxnaes himself a few questions about the knife:

What is the inspiration behind this Knife?
I was sitting in the Tequilaria in Sausalito and noticed a small knife used by the bartender to cut limes etc. The blade shape was catching my eye and I quickly combined some of that with the lines of the small tulip shaped glass in my hand…boom first lines of the Copita.

Are there any design elements you decided to leave out and why?
No, I actually got to do this one as I wanted. However at first it was meant to be a liner-lock but double steel liners added thickness on the Micarta versions so I redesigned it for frame lock. I like it better now and it’s slimmer in hand and pocket.

How did you come up with the name Copita?
The Tequilaria is named Copita so that was easy...
