It's a big EDC market out there, and tons of awesome gear is released all the time. We made The Drop to help you discover the latest and greatest essentials worth a spot in your EDC.

If you’re anything like me, you probably unload your pockets at random locations at home at the end of the day, whether the kitchen counter, your work desk, your bedside table, or whichever random surface you happen to be next to at the moment. Hopefully, you’re nothing like me because the drawbacks of doing this are obvious. Keys get misplaced, coins go missing, and you lose precious minutes trying to remember where you left your items before heading out of the house the following day.

A simple way to curb bad habits like this one is to get something like The Cambro Tray Set from The James Brand. Made of durable reinforced fiberglass, the set comes with two trays: a larger 8”x10” tray for items like your pocket knife, flashlight, and wallet, and a smaller 5”x7” tray for coins or your key organizer. Place them in an accessible location in your home, like on top of the nightstand or your dresser, and you’ll soon reap the benefits of some added organization in your life, with all your items ready to roll when you need them.

And here’s something else that would look good on your new Cambro Tray from The James Brand: their smallest fixed-blade knife called The Abbey. Measuring a mere 3” and weighing just 0.6 oz, The Abbey’s diminutive, compact nature makes it an easy tool to have with you for opening packages, envelopes, or even larger boxes. Three colorways are available: a rosewood handle with a stainless steel blade, a black handle with a black PVD-coated blade, or a Mystery handle with a stainless steel blade. The Mystery Vinyl and Black + Black colorway handle material is made from upcycled records. The James Brand gets rejected vinyl records from a local record producer and uses a laser to cut out each handle so no two handles are identical.

What we like:
The Cambro Tray Set: Durable and stylish enough not to look out of place on any surface in your home.
The Abbey: It comes with a well-crafted embossed leather sheath that makes it one of the most discreet blades we’ve come across.

What to watch out for:
The Cambro Tray Set: There’s only one color combination to choose from: tessellated gray for the big tray and black for the smaller tray.
The Abbey: The blade doesn’t retract or fold to keep the handle ultra-slim. That means you’ll always have to use the included sheath when putting it away.

Final verdict:
The Cambro Tray Set: Time to stop looking for your keys every morning.
The Abbey: Incredibly compact and built with quality materials, we can see The Abbey becoming a go-to tool for everyday tasks.
